SAN DIEGO -- FQcode.com, a provider of fresh produce traceability technology for every link in the supply chain, is now eyeing the U.S. as its next market. The company has already built business with growers, shippers, retailers and others in Central and South America and Europe. On Oct. 24 at Fresh Summit 2006, director of operations Leonardo Paniceres said that -- especially considering the recent food contamination outbreaks -- he hopes U.S. firms will take to FQcode‘s one-step production and traceability information, automated processes, and integrated information on a single label. “I think that if some U.S. companies start with FQcode now, we could see that it’s widely used in the industry within a few years,” said Paniceres.
